Sanford-MeritCare Hires Moorhead Coach
FARGO, N.D. (AP) ―
The new Sanford Health & MeritCare is hiring longtime Moorhead High School basketball coach Chuck Gulsvig for its Fargo public affairs team.
The announcement came Monday in a statement from Sanford-MeritCare Chief Executive Officer Kelby Krabbenhoft.
Gulsvig said he's excited about a new opportunity.
Gulsvig compiled a 445-222 record in 27 years of coaching at Moorhead. He was Minnesota's Class 4A coach of the year in 2002.
Krabbenhoft said Gulsvig has a similar background to Mike Begeman, Sanford's vice president of public affairs in Sioux Falls, S.D. Krabbenhoft's statement also said Gulsvig is a longtime acquaintance and that he's had success hiring "people I know and trust."
Sanford, based in Sioux Falls, and MeritCare, of Fargo, merged earlier this month.
