DNR Says Deer Hunter Have Some Common Questions
SPOONER, Wis. (AP) ―
Wisconsin's nine-day whitetail deer hunt is just around the corner and the Department of Natural Resources says there are some common questions that hunters ask.
The agency says one of them is whether people can hunt the day before deer season, which this fall opens Nov. 21.
The DNR says no hunting is allowed the day before the big deer hunt, except waterfowl hunting. Archery hunting closes Nov. 19 and remains closed until Nov. 30. The only shooting that can take place on private land the Friday before the season opens is to sight in firearms and only landowners and family members can do that.
The agency says another common question is whether once a hunter has killed a deer, can he keep hunting and fill someone else's tag.
The answer is yes, as long as the hunter is within voice or visual contact of the hunter with the tag.
