Polk County To Hold Swine Flu Vaccine Clinic

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) ― The Polk County Health Department is planning a swine flu vaccination clinic next week.

The clinic will be held Tuesday at Polk County Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Des Moines.

Tuesday's event will start at noon and run until 8 p.m. or until the vaccine runs out. Workers ran out of the vaccine at a recent clinic.

Among the people eligible to be vaccinated are: pregnant women, people who live with or care for children younger than 6 months, health care and emergency services workers, children six months through four years of age and children and adults with chronic medical conditions.

To date, Iowa has reported 14 confirmed swine flu deaths in Iowa, including 13 adults and one child.
