Storms Expected For The Next Few Days

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) ― A large portion of central Minnesota is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 6 p.m. Wednesday, including Twin Cities metropolitan area.

On Wednesday morning, strong storm cells moved through a number of counties in the northwest metro area, including Wright County. The National Weather Service reported the storms produced dime-sized hail.

Storms also popped up in western Wisconsin at about the same time.

The cause of the storms, according to NWS, is a stalled frontal boundary that should help keep the state fairly active, weather-wise, going into the weekend, with sporadic thunderstorms and showers expected beyond Friday.

Meteorologist Ron Trenda predicted showers and thunderstorms to likely continue throughout Wednesday afternoon, some severe.
