You probably won't need to resort to altering your Thanksgiving course over the river or through the woods, but the forecast calls for a possible dusting of snow Wednesday.
According to meteorologist Ron Trenda, there could be snow showers on and off in parts of Minnesota the day before Thanksgiving.
However, since temperatures are expected to remain above freezing, none of that snow is expected to stick to roads significantly. A front pushed in cooler temperatures overnight.
There is the possibility for snow to accumulate in the northeastern part of Minnesota on Wednesday, but only to the tune of about an inch.
Overall, Trenda characterized the potential snowfall as more of a nuisance than an event, though it may still affect the pre-Thanksgiving commute by virtue of its timing.
The most affected driving time would likely be later in the afternoon into the evening Wednesday.
This would mark the first notable threat for snow to fall in the Twin Cities in about a month and a half.
It also looks like Minnesota and western Wisconsin will be the most active part of the country today. The rest of the forecast map looks pretty clear.
Conditions should clear up on Thanksgiving. Commuters will likely be thankful for sunny skies on Thursday and Friday.
