Stearns County officials have put nearly 500 volunteers on alert as they prepare for potential flooding in central Minnesota.
Emergency Management Director Marv Klug says the 480 members of the specially trained volunteers were called Monday morning because they may be needed for sandbagging in the afternoon.
Klug says homeowners who fear rising water can call the county to have the bags and sand delivered to their house. There is a charge for the service.
Klug says they've already had one report of some flooding over a county road near Richmond.
