The Minnesota Department of Transportation reports roadways in much of the state are hazardous as the first winter storm of the year rolls in.
Department spokeswoman Rebecca Arndt says conditions are hazardous in south-central Minnesota due to freezing rain.

The National Weather Service in Duluth reports the storm could bring seven to 11 inches to the Northland through midday Sunday and up to a foot or more in the Twin Ports area.
The entire region is under a winter storm warning that will last through noon Sunday for the Duluth area and areas north and east.
For areas west and south of Duluth, the warning extends through 6 a.m. Sunday.
Areas of northwestern Wisconsin away from the lake may see lesser amounts of snow.
After the snow moves out, the winds will increase, WCCO Meteorologist Chris Shaffer said. The winds will be from the north-northwest at 10-20 mph Sunday, causing the snow that did fall to blow and drift.
Colder temperatures make a comeback by Monday morning as well. Lows Sunday night will be about minus 10 in the Twin Cities, Shaffer said.
