Minnesotans are used to dealing with cold weather -- just not at a college football game.
For the first time in almost three decades, Golden Gopher fans had to bundle up to watch the game.
The game time temperature on Saturday for Minnesota's homecoming game against Purdue was 31 degrees. In years past, the Metrodome provided a nice and toasty atmosphere after a chilly walk from the parking lot inside.
But the Gophers play in new, outdoor TCF Bank Stadium now. So there were plenty of coats, hats and mittens visible at the game against the Boilermakers.
Before the game, tailgaters sipped on hot cocoa, coffee, and likely some other beverages, to keep themselves warm for the afternoon.
