It was bound to happen. But, usually not this soon.
Snow flurries are expected to return to the forecast for Minneapolis and St. Paul.
The National Weather Service expects the coldest air of autumn to move into Minnesota this weekend when low readings should drop to the 20s and high temperatures will struggle to make it into the 40s.
Weather records show the first inch of snow, on average, falls Nov. 18. The earliest measurable snow landed in Minnesota was Sept. 26 and the latest was Jan. 9.

The most snow for Minnesota came in January 1994, when in a 24-hour period, there was 36 inches of snow.
