The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is urging deer hunters to check road and trail conditions before venturing out during this weekend's firearms opener.
Several days of rain or snow are in the forecast in much of northern Minnesota.
The DNR said state forest roads and trails will likely be wet and some may be temporarily closed if saturated and susceptible to rutting.
Depending upon the location, some state forest roads may not be maintainable or plowed.
Changing weather conditions can result in impassable locations.
Information on closures will be available on the DNR Web site.
