Still Windy, But Not Quite As Strong As Sunday

(AP) Winds are still gusty but are starting to let up after a raw, blustery day in Minnesota.

The National Weather Service said winds were gusting up to 30 mph in the Twin Cities early Monday. On Sunday, wind gusts of 40 to 60 mph were reported across central and southern Minnesota.

The weather service said the northwest winds were ushering in the coldest air of the season. Snow showers were reported on the North Shore of Lake Superior.

Temperatures were mainly in the low to mid 30s across Minnesota early Monday.

A chilly night is forecast, with lows expected to range from the teens to low 20s.

But the weather service forecasts a warm-up for Wednesday as high pressure moves into the area. Mild air and sunny skies should result in temperatures nearing 50 in northeastern Minnesota with 60-degree readings possible in the southwestern part of the state.
