Pet Crocodile Gets The Boot In Fergus Falls

FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (AP) ― Police in Fergus Falls are telling a local man that he needs to give his pet crocodile the boot.

Police say they received an anonymous report about a man was keeping the crocodile as a pet. When they went to check it out Monday, they found the 2-foot reptile in a cage.

People are not allowed to keep crocodiles as pets within the city limits. If the animal isn't removed in the next few days, its owner could be cited for keeping an illegal animal.

Police say the animal isn't a danger to the public.
