The waders were donated by one of the resident's families. They belonged to a relative who recently died. When family members went through the one-bedroom apartment, they found money hidden all over the place, but they didn't check the hip waders.

The sale on Lake Wabasso Court in Shoreview looked like any garage sale. There were the usual lamps, Christmas ornaments and vases, but this sale had a big heart and a big surprise.
The garage sale was a benefit for the mentally disabled men who live in the house. They love going to Disney World.
"They save and they talk about it all year, like this is what they look forward to all year," said program director Stacey Feucht.
Deb Meyer is a program director at another one of Enrich's seven group homes. She was on hand Wednesday helping run the sale. Meyer took a break from selling to do a little shopping. She spotted a pair of hip waders, size 9.
"I went to put my foot inside and there was something white on the bottom, so I reached down and grabbed it and there was an envelope," said Meyer. "I open up the envelope and there was $8,000 in cash."
Then she looked in the other boot -- $500.
The pregnant Meyer said, "I literally thought I was going to have a heart attack or go into labor."
She knew that $8,500 could buy a lot of baby clothes, but of course decided against it.
"I was thinking just for that brief second, ya know, oh, I could use this for rebuilding our cabin, but, ya know, I wouldn't have felt right about it," she said.
It turns out the waders were donated by one of the resident's families. They belonged to a relative who recently died. When family members went through the one-bedroom apartment, they found money hidden all over the place, but they didn't check the hip waders.
The family rewarded the staff by giving $500 to the Disney fund.
"It's the right thing to do," said Feucht. "And it worked out for us because we also got money for the guys -- it was the right thing to do."
Meyer still can't believe she found the cash in the boots.
She said, "Somebody could have got these for 50 cents and would have found a big surprise in them, and they had been sitting out all afternoon."
The garage sale ended Friday, but if you want to help send those residents to Disney World, you can send donations to the Enrich Dreams Do Come True Fund, 3754 Rustic Place, Shoreview, MN, 55126.
