Del. Police Say Crooks Targeting The Dead

WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) ― A case of stealing from the dead is under investigation in New Castle County, Delaware where criminals looking to make a quick buck vandalized a cemetery, CBS station KYW-TV in Philadelphia reports.

Delaware police say thieves stole bronze doors and gates from a mausoleum at the Riverview Cemetery in Northeast Wilmington.

A homeless man living in the mausoleum was able to tell police when the doors were taken before being arrested. Authorities say the doors that the weigh 1,000 pounds were most likely targeted for scrap.

At this time authorities have no leads and ask anyone with information to contact police.
