Even with all the hoopla at the Xcel Energy Center and all the parties and events around the Twin Cities, the hottest ticket in town this week was Comedy Central's Daily Show taping.
It took 20 minutes to sell out all four shows, yet somehow, WCCO-TV figured out how to get in to check out a little Indecision 2008.
On Thursday, the lines to see the Daily Show were moved inside.
"Because of the potential protests, you know, riots that could happen in the streets, so we've been watching cops line up," said Daily Show fan Jessica Horwitz.
Not even police in riot gear could prevent the rabid fans from waiting in standby lines for a chance to see the show live.
"It's really fun that it's in the Twin Cities and that, you know, that they talk about our cities," Horwitz explained.
A few young people were even lucky enough to meet host Jon Stewart.
"It was very cool to meet Jon Stewart," said fan Kalliah Jackson. "I offered him a back massage. He said no, but he was really cool."
Stewart and the correspondents refused to do media interviews, but that didn't stop us.
WCCO-TV asked Stewart the first question during the audience question and answer session before the taping, wondering if he liked Denver or St. Paul better. He said St. Paul, because it's less smoggy, but he did say the Republicans are a little suffocating.
