Cat Scratch Leads To California Crash
MODESTO, Calif. (AP) ―
A cat sitting on a driver's lap appears to have been at fault for an accident in Modesto, Calif.
Police say a woman was driving though town yesterday afternoon when the cat scratched her, and the car crashed into a power pole.
The pole landed in the road, which was closed for nearly an hour.
The driver was taken to Memorial Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
The cat was taken to the Yosemite Vet Clinic for an injured eye.
Earlier this week, legislators gave preliminary approval to a bill that would make it illegal for motorists to drive with a pet in their arms or lap.
