Winfield Named NFC Defensive Player Of The Week

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) ―

Minnesota Vikings cornerback Antoine Winfield is the NFC's Defensive Player of the Week.

Winfield was honored for his performance in Monday night's 30-27 win against the New Orleans Saints.

Winfield plucked a blocked field goal out of the air and ran 59 yards for a score. He sacked Saints quarterback Drew Brees and stole the ball from him in the same motion to set up a touchdown by the offense. And he recorded five tackles for loss.
