Vikings Release 4 Players From Roster
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (WCCO) ―
The Minnesota Vikings released four members from their roster Monday afternoon.
The players were linebacker Derrick Pope, wide receiver Daniel Davis, offensive tackle Sean Dumford and offensive tackle Brock Pasteur.
Pope was signed by the Vikings as a free agent with four years in the NFL. He signed with the Dolphins for 2004 as a seventh-round draft pick and went on to play 55 games, starting in 14 of them.
Davis was signed by the Vikings as an undrafted free agent. At Texas Southern in 2007, he caught 32 passes for 406 yards with a team-high four touchdowns.
Dumford played for Eastern Kentucky. His hometown was Washington Court House, Ohio.
Pasteur played for Stephen F. Austin State. His hometown was Pittsburgh, Penn.
The Vikings added that with the roster moves, they have met the 75-player roster maximum that goes into effect Tuesday.
