1 Killed In Rockford Shooting

Rockford, Minn. (WCCO) ― A man was shot and killed inside a residence in Rockford, Minn. early Wednesday morning.

Police were called to 8852 Walnut Place just after 3:30 a.m. on a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, Deputies discovered Erik Allen Richter, 35, of Watertown deceased.

Police say that Richter had forcibly entered the residence of his former girlfriend Samantha Erin Simons, 21, in violation of an active conditional release order.

Richter was subsequently shot by an acquaintance of Simons, Eric Michael Cegon, 30, of Rockford.

The Wright County Sheriff's Office is investigating. Police have not yet made any arrests.
