Police: Stray Bullet Strikes Woman In Face

Minneapolis (WCCO) ― A Minneapolis woman could lose an eye after being hit in the face by a stray bullet Saturday night.

On Saturday night, Theresa Schiller and her husband were in their parked vehicle at an intersection near 8th Avenue and Penn Avenue in Minneapolis.

The couple was checking out the course for the City of Lakes Loppet, which Schiller's husband was to ski in.

They heard gunshots and at least one penetrated the couple's minivan. Police believe one of the shots ricocheted off the dashboard, hitting Schiller in her left eye. Police said as many as six shots were fired.

Schiller, an ER nurse, is in satisfactory condition at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.

Police believe the crime was random and are still searching for the people who fired the shots. Anyone with more information should call Minneapolis Police at 612-692-8477.
