Carver County Sheriff's Office
A teacher at Chaska High School has been charged with third-degree sexual misconduct.
According to the criminal complaint, 28-year-old Julia Lund engaged in sexual contact with a student at the school, though not one in any of Lund's classes.
The student is a 17-year-old male. According to the complaint, Lund solicited the student with text messages and cell phone calls, saying that she was lonely as her husband was away five days every week.
She allegedly invited him to meet her at Hidden Ponds Park in Eden Prairie, Minn. in late October or early November. The student claims they engaged in sexual activity during their meeting.
According to a letter sent by Chaska High principal Paul McMahan to parents, Lund has been placed on administrative leave. The letter stated that school officials believe only one student was involved with Lund.
Lund has been released on bail. She is not allowed to enter Chaska High School without permission from McMahan, according to the conditions of her release.
