For any parent who has ever stood in line for hours waiting to see Santa Claus there is now a solution. Ridgedale Center in Minnetonka is taking Old Saint Nick into the 21st Century. Instead of waiting in line, he will call you when he's ready.
"Families can go shop, they can go eat. They can do their daily things ... they can even go outside the mall," said Alisha Parker of Santa Pagers.
All parents have to do is check in at the Santa Pagers desk and give their cell phone number. If the wait is long they can go and do other things. When their time comes to see Santa Claus they get a phone call. "It has been really, really popular this year," said Parker.
More than 300 families will take advantage of the service this weekend. Ridgedale also offers a paging system for people who don't have a cell phone or don't like to carry one.
