Young Woman Found Dead In Mpls. Radisson Hotel

Minneapolis (WCCO) ― Police are investigating the death of a young woman whose body was found in the Radisson Hotel near the University of Minnesota.

Police said they are considering the woman's death a homicide. She had an apparent gunshot wound and was dead when officers arrived around 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The woman was from out of town and police said she is not a student at the University of Minnesota.

University of Minnesota Police Chief Greg Hestness said he believes this is the first murder on University property. The hotel, located on Washington Avenue, is privately owned, but is on University property.

Both Minneapolis Police and the University of Minnesota Police Department are investigating. No one is in custody.
