Wounded Minn. Vet Breaks Ground On New Home

Cottage Grove, Minn. (WCCO) ― A Minnesotan's special story continues Monday with a very special ground breaking in Cottage Grove, Minn.

Army Sgt. John Kriesel lost both legs when a bomb went off while serving in Iraq. Monday he and his family helped break ground on the lot of their new home. The house is being built special with easy access for Kriesel.

"The people have been so generous and because of them I am able to carry on and my family is going to have a wonderful home and a wonderful life," said Kriesel.

The new home is being made possible by Five Oaks Church in Woodbury and Derrick Companies of New Richmond, Wisconsin.
