The House and Senate health committees hold a joint hearing today on how the Minnesota Health Department handled the release of new information about cancer deaths among Iron Range miners.
Last week, Health Commissioner Dianne Mandernach apologized for her department's yearlong delay in releasing the information.
Iron Range lawmakers have called for Mandernach's resignation.
Gov. Tim Pawlenty says the issue "was not well handled," but he says he's not firing Mandernach.
Today's hearing starts at 1 p.m. in Room 15 at the state Capitol.
