The Lee family was out bright and early Saturday. Ying and Karen Lee decided it's time to get four-year-old Lydah and 6-year-old Christian vaccinated.
"Everybody is getting sick and we're hust a little worried. I think it's better to get them the shots than having to regret later on," said mom Karen Lee.
The family came out to take advantage of free shots at St. Paul Children's Hospital and Clinics flu shot clinic.
Nurses like Pearlie Love gave lots of love in the form of a needle. Pearlie is a pro -- she vaccinated kids all morning, even a family of 10.
"We always say tell your children the truth. Don't say the shot doesn't hurt, because it does sting," said Love.
Some nurses said little girls tended to cry less than the boys.
Patsy Stinchfield, a nurse practioner, said, "We're talking to parents from all over the metro and even counties outside of the metro. They're thinking, 'Why would I not do this? What if something happened to my child?'"
The Lee family feels great that they took the time to get a flu shot.
"It can possibly happen to anyone, especially those who don't think it will happen to them," said Lee.
