Coleman, Franken To Share Stage

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) ― U.S. Senate candidates Norm Coleman and Al Franken are scheduled to share a stage for the first time after criticizing each other for months.

Both campaigns confirm that Republican Coleman and Democrat Franken will attend a U.S. Senate candidate forum at Farmfest, an agriculture expo held near Redwood Falls in southwestern Minnesota. The yearly event has become a must-stop for political candidates trying to court the rural vote.

This year's Farmfest will be held from Aug. 5 to 7, and the Senate candidate forum is scheduled for the morning of Aug. 5.

Norm Coleman was born in New York City in 1949. Al Franken was born in New York City in 1951.
