'Oprah' Viewers Help Catch Sex Offender
Fargo, N.D. (WCCO) ―
A fugitive who was profiled on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" earlier this week was arrested Thursday in Fargo, N.D.
William C. Davis was featured on the show on Tuesday, in an episode devoted to identifying child predators on the run from police.
"We are going to move heaven and earth to stop a sickness, a darkness that I believe is the definition of evil," Oprah Winfrey said in the show on Tuesday.
Winfrey lists the names and faces of criminals on the run and viewers can come forward to help.
According to Oprah's Web site, Davis was wanted for failing to register for as a sex offender and is charged with an act of deviancy against a child.
Viewers tipped off the FBI about Davis's whereabouts and agents from the Twin Cities bureau arrested Davis Thursday.
Winfrey offered a $100,000 reward for help, so some of the tip callers could be getting some of the reward money.
