He's A Bear-y Home Run Winner

Detroit, Mich. (WCCO) ― Twins' mascot T.C. Bear blasted 10 home runs Saturday to win the 2005 Mascot Home Run Derby in Detroit, Mich.

T.C. batted seventh, but his low place in the order and the number he wears on his jersey (00) were not to be underestimated. He beat three-time winner and defending champ, Junction Jack of the Houston Astros.

Other participating mascots included Mariner Moose, of the Seattle Mariners; Screech, of the Washington Nationals; Mr. Met, of the New York Mets; Paws, of the Detroit Tigers; Wally the Green Monster, of the Boston Red Sox; and Fred Bird, of the St. Louis Cardinals.

The event was part of a festival for the fans for Major League Baseball's All-Star Week. The All-Star Game is Tuesday night and the Home Run Derby (for the players, not T.C.) is Monday night.
