Family Of Missing Student Gives $5K For Cameras

St. Cloud, Minn. (AP) ― The family of a missing St. Cloud State student Scot Radel has given the city of St. Cloud, Minn. $5,000 to start a fund to put security cameras in the downtown area.

Mayor Dave Kleis thanked Scot's dad, Allan, for the money and said they'll keep looking for his son.

Allan Radel also wanted to thank everyone involved in the search for Scot.

Police Chief Dennis Ballantine says authorities still don't know what led up to the young man's disappearance. Ballantine says they're planning to resume the search of the Mississippi River as soon as there's open water.

Meanwhile Mayor Kleis and Chief Ballantine are putting together a task force to begin the process of putting cameras in the downtown area.
