Friends, Family Pray For Missing SCSU Student

Owatonna, Minn. (WCCO) ― On Sunday night, friends and family of a missing St. Cloud State University student gathered in Owatonna, Minn. to pray for him.

Scot Radel, 21, of Owatonna, has been missing for more than two weeks.

"We gather to give you thanks for the gift of life and the warmth of your love and to hold before you the Radel family," said Allan Radel, Scot Radel's father.

There were prayers of love and loss Sunday night. Scot Radel disappeared after a night of partying as he tried to find his way from one bar to another in downtown St. Cloud, Minn.

Last week, searchers found Scot Radel's white University of North Carolina baseball hat deep in the Mississippi River. The search of the river with an underwater camera has since been suspended because of dangerous ice conditions.

His family and police now believe Scot Radel's body is in the river. Allan Radel believes his son was a victim of foul play. Police said they cannot determine if foul play was involved until Scot Radel's body has been found.

At Sunday's vigil, Scot Radel's sister cried and his father did what he could to comfort others.

"We appreciate your support," Allan Radel said. "We've got to bring Scot home. I want to thank everybody. It has just been ... it means a lot that people show up and thank you."
