Rushford Residents Warned Not To Drink City Water

Slideshow: Flooding In SE Minn.

Rushford, Minn. (AP) ― The Minnesota Department of Health is warning residents of Rushford, Minn. not to drink water from the city's public water supply system.

Officials say the water supply in Rushford has been off line due to the recent flooding. Water is currently being circulated through the system in order to flush it out.

Officials say the water is not safe right now and should not be used for drinking, cooking, bathing or other household purposes.

Private wells in the area should also not be considered safe until they have been properly flushed out and tested.

Residents will be notified when the water is safe for drinking.
