First Woman U.S. Attorney For Minn. Sworn In

Minneapolis (AP) ― Rachel Paulose has been officially sworn in as the U.S. Attorney for Minnesota.

More than 300 people attended Friday's swearing-in ceremony.

Paulose is the first woman to hold the office in Minnesota and at age 33, she's also the youngest.

The U.S. Senate unanimously confirmed her for the post in December. She had been acting U.S. attorney for several months. She succeeds Tom Heffelfinger.

Paulose was a federal prosecutor in Minnesota from 1999 to 2002 and then worked in private practice for the Dorsey and Whitney law firm in Minneapolis.

Before 1999, she worked in the Justice Department.

She's a graduate of Yale Law School and the University of Minnesota.
