A draft environmental impact statement on the new Minnesota Twins stadium says that fans and players won't be overwhelmed by fumes from a nearby garbage burner.
The statement reinforces previous studies that have shown the Hennepin Energy Recovery Center would have little impact on the stadium.
The draft report says ballpark users won't be exposed to any health risks associated with the garbage burner.
The 176-page written document also addresses issues of traffic, parking, lighting, site contamination, noise and air quality.
The 42,000-seat open-air ballpark is slated for construction northwest of the Target Center in downtown Minneapolis. The stadium is scheduled to open in 2010.
The Hennepin County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the report at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 20.
