Saturday 16th Anniversary Of Wetterling Kidnapping

St. Joseph, Minn. (AP) ― It was 16 years ago Saturday that eleven-year-old Jacob Wetterling was kidnapped just a mile from his home in St. Joseph, Minn. never to be seen again.

To mark the anniversary, the Jacob Wetterling Foundation is asking people to leave their outside lights on or light a candle in remembrance.

Jacob's mother, Patty Wetterling, has been working hard to change child safety laws since the abduction. She says leads continue to come in, and she continues to hope that Jacob will someday be found and the man who took him caught.
