Man Uses Web To Raise Rx Drug Awareness

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) ― A St. Cloud man is using the Internet to raise awareness about the dangers of prescription drug abuse after his son died of an overdose.

Dan Pearson of St. Cloud lost his son, Justin, on Christmas Day in 2006 to an overdose of prescription drugs. Justin had bought the drugs online.

Now, Pearson is launching a Web site to talk about Justin's story as well as what his family is doing to try to change the law.

Justin's Bill is making its way through the Minnesota Legislature. It would make it illegal to purchase prescription drugs online without a doctor's consent.

Pearson hopes to take the issue to the federal level.
