MN Farmers Union Hosts Politicians At State Fair

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. (AP) ― The Minnesota Farmers Union hosts its annual "open microphone" on Saturday at the Minnesota State Fair.

The event begins at 1 p.m. at the MFU booth on Dan Patch Avenue. The group says gubernatorial candidates from the Democratic and Republican parties have confirmed they'll attend.

Federal and local elected officials will speak at 1:30 p.m., including Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken.

The Minnesota Farmers Union president is Doug Peterson. He says it's a great opportunity for fairgoers to hear what the candidates have to say about rural issues.
