Wild Cet Center Ebbett Off Waivers From Blackhawks

ST. PAUL (AP) ― The Minnesota Wild have a new center.

The Wild claimed Andrew Ebbett off waivers from the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday for a boost at a hard-to-come-by position. Ebbett has one goal in 12 games this season. He played briefly for the Anaheim Ducks before being waived and claimed by the Blackhawks.

Last season for the Ducks, Ebbett had eight goals and 24 assists in 48 games.

Mikko Koivu, Eric Belanger and Kyle Brodziak are Minnesota's top three centers. Center Nathan Smith and right wing Danny Irmen were reassigned to the minor league club in Houston on Saturday.
