Minnesota defenseman Nick Leddy has a broken jaw that will keep him out for six weeks.
The Gophers announced Leddy's status Saturday afternoon. The freshman from Eden Prairie suffered the injury when he was hit while taking a shot in the first period of Friday's win over Alaska Anchorage.
Leddy was taken in the first round by the Minnesota Wild this summer with the 16th overall selection in the NHL draft.
