The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater's defense recorded a season high six sacks and forced three fumbles to help the team win 37-7 over Saint John's University Saturday in the first round of the NCAA Division III playoffs.
Saint John's (8-3) scored on their first possession, with an 11-yard touchdown pass from Joe Boyle to Jakob Reding at 7:02.
Jeff Schebler kicked three field goals in the second quarter, making it 9-7.
Whitewater sophomore Antwann Anderson scored on his first carry of the second half, going 43 yards to make it 16-7 and Whitewater never looked back.
Whitewater, 10-1, the defending national champions, will play at the winner of Williamette College versus Occidental College next Saturday.
