Vikings Waive DE Erasmus James
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) ―
The Minnesota Vikings have waived former first-round draft pick Eramus James.
The defensive end was one of the top-rated pass rushers coming out of Wisconsin in 2005, when Minnesota made him the 18th overall pick. But James was limited by a series of knee injuries during his time with the Vikings.
He had four sacks in 15 games during his rookie season but he tore his left ACL in Week 2 of the 2006 season.
James returned last season and played sparingly in six games. He suffered a similar injury to the same knee in Week 13 against Detroit and was placed on injured reserve.
