Vikes Considering Bringing Back Napoleon Harris

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) ― The Minnesota Vikings aren't done trying to add depth to their linebacker group.

Former starter Napoleon Harris was expected at Winter Park for a physical Wednesday afternoon.

Harris came to Minnesota in the Randy Moss trade in 2005 and spent two seasons with the Vikings, playing solidly as the starter at middle linebacker in 2006 before leaving as a free agent for a six-year contract with Kansas City.

He wasn't playing much with the Chiefs, though, and was cut this week.

Harris is in his seventh NFL season out of Northwestern. The Vikings have lost two linebackers, backup Heath Farwell and defensive MVP E.J. Henderson, to season-ending injuries. They signed another former player, Dontarrious Thomas, to a contract on Monday.
