The Minnesota Timberwolves have signed center David Harrison.
Harrison, a free agent, was selected by the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the 2004 NBA Draft. He appeared in 189 games in four seasons with the Pacers, averaging 5.0 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.
The 7-foot Harrison was a three-year standout at Colorado, where he left as the school's all-time leader in blocked shots (225) and field goal percentage (60.2 percent).
The move bolsters depth in the front court for the Timberwolves, who have suffered several injuries to veterans acquired in the offseason. Jason Collins is still recovering from an elbow injury suffered in a freak golf cart accident and Calvin Booth has been bothered by back problems. So the team is looking for some extra bulk and height next to Al Jefferson. Harris provides both of those qualities.
Harrison's signing bring the Wolves' training camp roster to 19.
