Construction of the University of Minnesota's TCF Bank Stadium is moving
along -- with the first shipment of steel that arrived Monday.
The steel will be used to build the frame of the stadium -- including
the upper bowl, suites and press box structures. The steel will also support
the scoreboard.
The frame is scheduled to be completed in late August, with construction
of the brick and cast portion of the stadium to begin in the fall.
The $288.5 million stadium is expected
to be completed by February 2009.

Memorial Stadium was the home of Minnesota Golden Gophers football from 1924 until 1981.
