Edwards Practices For First Time At Training Camp

MANKATO, Minn. (AP) ― Minnesota Vikings defensive end Ray Edwards has made his first appearance in a helmet and pads at training camp.

Edwards missed the first nine practices of camp while recovering from a lower back injury suffered in the offseason. His presence at the morning practice Wednesday gave the Vikings their full four-man starting defensive line for the first time this camp.

Edwards joins tackles Kevin and Pat Williams and end Jared Allen on what is being billed as one of the best units in the league. He did some individual drills in the morning, but sat out the full team portions of practice as he eases back in.

Edwards says his back feels good, but he won't be participating in Thursday night's joint practice with the Kansas City Chiefs.
