A high school pitcher in central Minnesota has come up short in his bid for a fourth consecutive no-hitter.
With the conference championship on the line, Tyler Geislinger, a junior left-hander from Eden Valley-Watkins, made a surprise start on only three days rest Thursday against Maple Lake.
Geislinger took a no-hitter into the fifth inning before Maple Lake broke it up.
For the game, he gave up only two hits in the 10-1 win. The victory did clinch the Central Minnesota Conference title for the Eagles.
