Neshek's Rehab Smooth; He's Soon Ready For Mound

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) ― Minnesota Twins reliever Pat Neshek is two weeks away from throwing off a mound.

The right-hander has been playing catch daily since early August in his recovery from a partially torn ligament in his elbow. In an e-mail to The Associated Press, Neshek said the process is going smoothly and he's experiencing no pain.

The end of his rehab is scheduled for November 14. He's on track to pitch in instructional league games after that and barring a setback will be ready for spring training in February.

Neshek did not need surgery to repair the problem. He had a 4.73 ERA in 15 appearances before the injury. His absence was felt in the eighth inning, as the Twins struggled to fill his setup role this season.
