Ex-Gopher Jim Peterson Named Lynx Assistant Coach

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) ― The Minnesota Lynx have hired Jim Peterson as an assistant coach.
  
Peterson has served on the Timberwolves' broadcast team for the past 11 seasons. He's currently their television analyst. Peterson has never coached professionally before.
  
At St. Louis Park High School, Peterson was named Minnesota's Mr. Basketball award winner in 1980.
  
He played four years for the Gophers, winning a Big Ten title in 1982, and eight seasons in the NBA with Houston, Sacramento and Golden State.
