Hermsen Inks Deal With Twins

MANCHESTER, Iowa (AP) ― Former West Delaware pitcher B.J. Hermsen says he's signed with the Minnesota Twins.

Hermsen, who was selected by Minnesota in the sixth round of the draft in June, earns a signing bonus of $650,000.

The righthander had signed with Oregon State, but he says the opportunity to join the Twins' organization was too good to pass up.

Hermsen was also a standout in football and basketball. He led West Delaware to a state title in baseball in 2007.
