Hennepin County Jail
A freshman Gopher football defensive back was arrested Sunday for allegedly participating in a fight around 11:55 p.m. near the intersection of 4th Street and 14th Avenue.
According to the University of Minnesota Police Department, Michael Carter, 18, and another man, were trying to pick a fight with two people walking near the area of Mesa Pizza, 1323 4th Street SE in Minneapolis.
Police attempted to arrest Carter, but he resisted, according to police, who also say he would not comply with officers' commands.
Police say alcohol could be detected on Carter's breath, and when asked if he had been drinking, Carter responded, "I had a little bit."
Carter was given a breathalyzer test, which registered a .055 BAC.
Carter was transported to Hennepin County Jail, where he was booked for obstruction without force and consuming alcohol under the age of 21.
